One of the absolute conditions for the acceptance of a servant's charity is the truth of intention, that is, sincerity only for God. Without sincerity, one's charity will be rejected. Allah Ta'ala says,
“ Even though they are not commanded, except to worship Allah with sincere devotion only to Him in (carrying out) the straight religion. “(Surat al -Bayyinah: 5)
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam also said,
God does not accept deeds except that which is sincere and for the sake of His pleasure
“ Indeed, Allah will not accept any deed, except those who sincerely hope for His face. (HR An-Nasa'i, Sahih )
The right intention, which is sincere to Allah, will also produce many other extraordinary benefits. By arranging the intentions in the heart, a person can have the opportunity to get a lot of goodness and rewards from each activity. With the right intention, a person can get a reward even though he has not been able to practice a deed. With the right intentions, activities that are permissible and customary can become of worship value. This is the importance of setting intentions so that a servant has the opportunity to get a lot of good. Therefore, we should be smart and observant and pay attention to this one heart case.
With sincere intentions, a servant can get the reward of a deed even though he has not been able to practice it. A person can even get the title of martyr and mujahid even though he dies in his bed. Allah Ta'ala explains about the nature of people who are unable to fight with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam in His word,
" And there is no blame (also) on those who when they come to you so that you give them a vehicle, then you say, 'I did not get a vehicle to take you.' Then they returned, with tears in their eyes because of grief, because they did not get what they would spend . "(Surat at -Taubah: 92)
Similarly, it is mentioned in a hadith from Anas bin Malik radhiyallahu 'anhu. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said,
" Indeed, we have left some people in the city of Medina. They did not traverse a slope or valley like us, but they were with us. They were prevented (to go to war), because of an age. (Narrated by Bukhari)
In another narration it is stated,
Unless they share with you the reward
" Unless they get a reward like you. (HR. Muslim)
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam also said,
" Whoever asks Allah to be martyred honestly in his heart, Allah will convey him to the position of those who are martyred even though he dies in his bed. (HR. Muslim)
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam also explained that a poor person can get a reward like a rich person who gives alms even though he is unable to do it. It will be obtained if the intention is right. From Abu Kabsyah Al-Anmaary radhiyallahu 'anhu , that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
“ The example of this ummah is like four people. A person who is given by Allah in the form of wealth and knowledge, then he spends his wealth in accordance with his knowledge, he inflicts it on those who are entitled. There is also someone who is given by God in the form of knowledge but not given wealth. He said, 'If I had what this man (the first man) had, I would have done as he did.' So the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said,' So in matters of reward, they are both the same… ' "(Narrated by Ibn Majah, saheeh )
However, there are important things to know. That a person sometimes he is not able to practice something, but he dreams of practicing it and he thinks that he will be rewarded with his dreams. He thought it was the right intention. So know, this is in fact a false wish of his own and a whisper of the devil. We find that someone is sitting in his house, sleeping on his bed, he does not go to the mosque and just says, "I am happy to go to the mosque." However, he thought that with his words he would get the reward of congregational prayers in the mosque. Such a thing is not what is meant in this discussion and does not include the people mentioned in the hadith above.
Dari sahabat Sa'ad bin Abi Waqosh radhiyallahu 'anhu , Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda,
" Surely you do not spend anything with a sincere intention to seek the face of God, but You will be rewarded for it, until what You give into the mouth of your wife (will also be rewarded by God). (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
This is a great thing that is an open door of many benefits. When a Muslim is able to do so, he will get great benefits and many rewards. If we mean in the habitual activities that we do and the permissible things that we do all we do in order to get closer to Allah Ta'ala , then we will surely get great goodness and abundant rewards.
Zabiid Al-Yaamy rahimahullah said, " Actually I like to present intentions in every condition, including when eating and drinking. "
Let's take an example of what we often do. Hopefully we can get the benefits of the reward from it in the activities of daily life.
Many people like to wear perfume. If he intends to wear perfume before going to the mosque to glorify the house of Allah and so as not to disturb the people in the mosque with an unpleasant odor, then he will get a good reward.
We all need to eat and drink. Whoever has the intention while eating and drinking to strengthen the body in worship, then he will get a reward.
Most people need to get married. If he intends when he marries to maintain his and his wife's dignity, and wants to get offspring who always worship Allah Ta'ala , then surely a reward will be set for him.
Students should also always improve their intentions when studying, so that their knowledge can provide benefits for Islam and Muslims.
Doctors should intend when working to help treat sick Muslims.
Likewise with workers and others. Everyone should aim to benefit Islam and the Muslims according to their respective fields.
And this applies to all activities. Everyone must do work activities, provide a living for his family, sleep, and various other activities. So, don't underestimate trying to find a reward for each of these permissible things and presenting sincere intentions in it. It will all be the cause of luck and salvation in the hereafter.
We can apply this in any activity we do. This is one of the benefits of the importance of setting intentions that will produce sweet fruit in the form of goodness and rewards in the sight of Allah Ta'ala . Hopefully useful.
